From the very first meeting with Jimmy and Anna, when they met with us for their wedding photography consultation, their fun loving personalities were immediately evident. While their wedding was still a whole year away, we knew right away that it was going to be a crazy fun time and we’ll have a ton of amazing moments to capture! And of course, just as expected, it was!
Jimmy and Anna both come from large families, so when we arrived at their family homes to photograph them getting ready, their homes were full of family, and full of love, laughter, and blessings. Jimmy’s family home was packed with family and friends, many of whom came for the wedding from abroad, and Anna comes from a family of 4 sisters, and she herself is a triplet, so you can imagine the excitement in the home! As Anna got ready with the girls and Jimmy was getting ready with his boys, there was non-stop laughter and silliness in both homes.
The day of Jimmy and Anna’s wedding, the weather wasn’t ideal as it was raining on and off throughout the day, and while we had back-up plans for our photos, Jimmy and his family wanted to pay respects to his father at the cemetery before heading over to the church. As I captured this touching and highly emotional moment, the rain definitely enhanced the mood and it was hard to hold back tears.
The ceremony was held at St. Patrick’s Parish, a large and beautiful Roman Catholic church in Markham. While the ceremony was traditional, Jimmy and Anna couldn’t help but exchange cheeky grins with each other, and it was absolutely adorable to capture!
The original plan for the post-ceremony photos was to head over to a local park to photograph the bridal party and capture the couple portraits, but the constant drizzle forced a change of plans. Instead, we headed over to the hotel room with Jimmy and Anna and their bridal party, where they got the wedding party started. After a few drinks, and lots of dancing and silliness, we made our way to the beautiful The Manor Event Venue byPeterandPauls.com, where the finally sunny weather allowed us to do a few couple, bridal party, and family photos in the stunning venue grounds, which backed out to a gorgeous sunset lake view.
At the wedding reception, Jimmy and Anna’s love of music was very evident. Their seating chart incorporated record covers from their favourite artists, their friends made a surprise video for them where they told them which song reminded them of Jimmy and Anna, and then at the party, they really kicked it on the dance floor. It was phenomenal to see how much energy Jimmy and Anna, and their family and friends had. Every song that played had a bunch of people going crazy to the music, throwing their entire bodies into the dancing. The dancing was infectious, and as wedding photographers whose favourite part of any wedding is the party, we couldn’t help but bust a move or two ourselves. By the end of the night, as we were leaving the venue and jumped into the car, we were still singing along to some of the songs and pumping our fists. Jimmy and Anna, thank you so much for such a crazy fun time!!!
